Nightlife in Charlotte, North Carolina, is not as developed as it could be. Many bars and dance clubs cater to a younger—even college-age—crowd. Visitors again will find Uptown Charlotte remains the best bet for a suitable bar or nightclub. Live music abounds, though. Check out The Evening Muse, Visulite Theatre or Amos’ Southend.

For cultural performances, see what’s playing at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, Ovens Auditorium or Belk Theater. Sports fans have plenty of options, depending on their interest and the season. Charlotte hosts everything from NASCAR (Lowe’s Motor Speedway) to basketball (Charlotte Bobcats) to football (Carolina Panthers).
